How to Apply for 5-year Visa Exemption for Family Members of overseas Vietnamese or Vietnamese citizens

According to the Decree 82/2015/NĐ-CP dated on September 24th, 2015 and be effected on November 15, 2015, Certificate of Visa Exemption is applied to Vietnamese residing abroad and foreigners who are spouses, children of Vietnamese residing abroad or Vietnamese citizen. This certificate is valid for up to five years and offers maximum duration of each stay in Vietnam up to 6 months.
Accordingly, dossiers required for foreigners who are spouses, children of Vietnamese residing abroad or Vietnamese citizen to apply are different from documents required for person of Vietnamese origin. Thus, Vietnam-legal.com would like to give requirements for family members of overseas Vietnamese or Vietnamese citizens as below:
1. One completed Application Form for a Certification of Visa Exemption,
2. Two recent photographs (size 4×6, with white background, without glasses or headwear), of which should be attached to the Application Form,
3. Foreign passports whose validity must exceed the date of departure from Vietnam by six months. A photocopy of the passport is also required for record
4. Dossiers determining the relationship with a Vietnamese citizen or a person of Vietnamese origin residing abroad include one of the following:
– Marriage Certificate,
– Birth Certificate,
– Certificate for Parental Relationship,
– Permission for Adoption
One photocopy of each document is required for record at the Embassy/ Immigration Department.
